Colorado Burlesque Festival - Friday classes
9:00am-10:30am Samson Night: Square Root of Burlesque/ Peer Review
This class starts with a lecture on creating and performing a burlesque act and getting it booked. We’ll cover key topics from the "Square Root of Burlesque" course.
After the lecture, 2-3 pre-selected students will present their acts. We’ll discuss and give feedback based on what we learned, helping everyone improve their performances.
If you're interested in being one of the lucky performers to have their act selected for peer review please fill out the form on the ticketing website. The winners will be selected at random through a drawing closer to date of class.
10:45am-12:00pm Desiré D'Amour: Mechanics of Pasties and Tassel Twirling
This class includes an in-depth lesson in making and using tassel twirling pasties that work for almost all body types. As an add on, I can provide materials to make their own set (base, covering and spinner , no decorations provided). Even if you aren't interested in spinning, I will help you make custom shapes and 3D designs that incorporate aesthetics AND function...and are perfect for YOUR body.
Note: This class is designed for all body types and ability levels though the twirling portion may not be a fit if you are unable to move your shoulders and upper torso freely.
12:15pm-1:15pm Android Allure: Baby is it 10's?
Baby is it 10’s? is a workshop that utilizes elements from underground ballroom culture to assist in developing your stage presence and performance.
The goal of this workshop is to give you tools and a blueprint to take home to continue building your persona at your own pace. Come in ready to walk in all your power and make the people feel it because the last thing you want is a CHOP!
1:30pm-2:45pm Allurrr'em VelvIT: Own That Stage! Stage Presence & Attitude
What is Stage Presence? A simple definition of that term is “the ability of a performer to capture and command the attention of an audience, directing and controlling that attention by being impressive in one's visual appearance, body language, charismatic speech, and general mannerisms.” In this course you will be guided through a process, the process in which ALLurrr’em VelvIT goes about Owning each stage she graces through her presence and attitude.

9am-10:15am P.NoNoire: Intro To Acro With P.No
Intro To Acro With P. No” is an introductory class that emphasizes on safe body awareness and lead-up drills that will build a solid foundation for basic and intermediate level performance acrobatics. This class focuses on acro-based skills and transitions, when and why we use them, and gives you the opportunity to workshop newly honed tricks!
What To Bring:
Form fitting workout apparel (avoid overly loose fitting clothing)
Yoga mat (may or may not be provided by studio space)
Knee pads (if preferred but not mandatory)
Any prescribed or necessary support devices (i.e. knee brace, wrist or ankle brace, etc)
What To Expect:
A fun, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere
A positive learning environment that will move at the pace of the attendees at large
Modified variations of some skills to accommodate for physical limitations
(Note: All are welcome! Safety is the top priority. In class you may engage in inverted, prone/weight bearing, and/or rotating body positions. Please take any pre-existing injuries to the head/neck/shoulders and/or any physical limitations in consideration. Feel free to reach out in advance if comfortable with disclosing said limitations.)
10:30am-11:45am Deeva Rose: Erotic Chair
Be unapologetically sexy! Build strength through lap dance moves, floor-work and choreography in this welcoming space! Dances will be slow and sexy. This class will include going onto your knees.This class is best for students with some dance experience.
This class will include a warm-up, choreography and a cool down.Students should wear long pants and bring knee pads.
12:00pm-1:30pm Tiffany Carter: Chair Class With Tiffany
Make use of your most available large prop, the chair!! Burlesque legend Tiffany Carter will teach you how to use the chair to accentuate, tease and dazzle.
You'll learn graceful and attractive ways to get onto and off the chair and use it to enhance your striptease. Bring your favorite burlesque prop, a boa, panel, fan or scarf etc.. You will learn a full chair routine so dress to dance and dazzle, bring your heels or dance shoes.
